Hayden Parker enjoys his new internship at the Denholm Corporation almost as much as he enjoys sneaking around with Nancy Fisher. But when Hayden discovers a horrible secret about Nancy’s father, who owns part of the Denholm Corporation, it threatens to undo his sanity and his relationship with Nancy. He must choose what is more important: his career, or the woman he loves.
“Hayden…” she whispers. “I’m not sure now is a good time.” She looks up at me with her brown doe eyes.
“But I haven’t seen you in over two weeks.” I press closer to her, inhaling her sweet perfume, and I could be mistaken but I believe I smell the enticing scent of her arousal beneath her short professional skirt.
“Hayden. This is wrong. We can’t…we can’t do this here.”
“I know. But it makes me want you even more.”
She closes her eyes and brushes her lips against my cheek. “I know.”
This is also part of the game. The most exciting part, where we posture about the right and wrongness of our encounters. But it’s true. We haven’t had sex in nearly two weeks. We’d begin the game, but then get interrupted. We’ve almost gotten caught by a co-worker or two, so we’ve had to be more careful.
I love the game. But it’s not just about the sneaking around. I really feel like I have a connection with her. I know, I know, stupid Hayden, I felt like I had a connection with Mel and she betrayed me for some professor, but this is different. Nancy has no secrets. No inhibitions. She just wants to be with me.
And because of that, I think I’m falling in love with her.
She melts in my arms as my hand slides up her leg.
